Entering his 20th NBA season, LeBron James has always said he wants to play long enough to share the court with his oldest son, Bronny, once he enters the NBA, but the James family’s production line doesn’t stop there.
LeBron’s youngest son, Bryce Maximus James, is starting to make it at age 15, playing for Sierra Canyon School and the Strive For Greatness AAU team.
While the younger James’ high school class has yet to be ranked, some evaluators believe Bryce might be the better NBA prospect of the two brothers.
As Bryce prepares to play on ESPN this week with his AAU team, learn more about the future NBA prospect looking to join the long list of second-generation NBA players.
How good is Bryce James?
Since transferring to Sierra Canyon School in May 2019, Bryce has been playing for a prestigious high school program, the same school his older brother Bronny attends.
While much of the attention has been on older brother James, a recent growth spurt and some impressive AAU performances have seen Bryce step into the spotlight. LeBron recently shared a side-by-side photo with his younger son, who is almost as tall as his Hall of Fame father.
15-year-old Bryce is already almost as tall as Bron
Since he is in ninth grade, there are no rankings available for Bryce to compare him to his classmates. However, the similarities to LeBron are striking, with the Los Angeles Lakers star posting a photo of Bryce taking a dunk and referring to him as “my twin.”
Bryce James game breakdown
At nearly 6-foot-6, Bryce still has some growing to do, but he has all the physical tools for his age.
While Bronny is more of a point guard, Bryce’s size allows him to attack the basket at will, gobble up rebounds and step up in transition.A notable feature of his game is his ability and confidence in shooting the ball, an area where he can be seen to have concentrated. In 2018, LeBron stated that the then 11-year-old was already “the best shooter in the house.”
