As always, there is a new Venom 2 game coming your way this week! If you’ve been following our blog for the past year or so, you’ll know we’ve been working on this game all year long. So what are you waiting for? It’s finally here! To give you a brief overview, our team set out to create the ultimate competitive fighting game. We wanted it to feel fluid and responsive, with a competitive atmosphere where skill and strategy were valued more than flash or special tricks. We wanted it to have deep characters, intriguing storylines, challenging maps, and an intense online experience where players had to think on their feet in order to defeat their opponents. With that being said, we also knew that nothing would be perfect. As such, we set out to make sure that our game delivered everything we promised; it was time for another entry in the acclaimed series. So let’s get into it!
What is Venom 2?
Venom 2 is a Fighting game developed by One Gay Marriage and published by Koch Media. It is the sixth installment in the Venom series. Players can choose from a wide array of returning characters such as Eddie Brock, Peter Parker and more, as well as a crop of new additions such as the telepathic Jonah Jameson and the shapeshifter Flash Thompson. However, some of the most notable additions are the new antagonists Shriek, Zombietroopers, Confessor and more. Shriek is a new character that has the ability to transform into a ravenous, bloodthirsty version of herself. Zombietroopers are an army of living, walking zombies thatettlement players using a variety of special zombie abilities. Finally, the Confessor, a new villainous archetype, is a spiritualist that uses an array of religious relics and rituals to control her enemies. With such a large cast of characters, it’s no wonder that the story of Venom 2 is one of the most engaging featured in any fighting game.
Game Features
The most engaging story of any fighting game! New and returning characters bring the story to life! New game modes, including a competitive Versus mode! Deep character unlocks, with new and unique moves! Stunning visuals, setting the standard for modern fighting games! Genuinely challenging combat that feels like a real fight! Optimized for modern consoles with amazing graphics and effects!
Competitive Multiplayer
One of the most anticipated features of Venom 2 is its competitive multiplayer. With our new character matchmaking system, it’s easy to find a game near you. Simply look for the icon of two floating dice and you’ll be matched against another player in seconds. Additionally, you can find the full list of available servers and the options to create your own here.
Character Unlock System
Each character in Venom 2 starts with a limited amount of unlocks, with more being available through in-person play and game currency. In order to unlock every character, players must go through a process called character evolution known as “grinding.” During character evolution, players start out with a single ★ character vowing to become a ★ character. After several matches, players will gain access to their second ★ character. They must grind again to gain access to the third ★ character, and so on. As you progress through the game, you’ll gain access to more and more characters, with the majority waiting to be discovered through grind. This system encourages players to compete against each other, rather than against the computer, which is the default. By unlocking characters and playing with them, you’re rewarded with experience points that allow you to level up and gain new abilities. Once you’ve reached ★, you can choose to either level up to ★ or proceed with your fighting game career, which adds a huge ulterior-motive to play the game as opposed to ★.
Storyline & Free-For-All Modes
Another significant addition to Venom 2’s competitive multiplayer is the addition of story modes. These modes are triggered by picking a character, either during character select or in-match, and they tell the tale of one of the game’s many compelling characters. Free-for-all is the classic mode that all fighting games enjoy, and it returns in a big way in Venom 2. Here, players select a character, either during character select or in-match, and fight until one person is unable to fight any longer. There’s also an option for a time limit, and when it’s up, the match is over and the person who couldn’t continue is eliminated from the game.
Co-op Versus and Ranked Modes
Co-op versus and ranked modes are also new additions to Venom 2. The former allows two players to go head-to-head in a match, with the winner taking home the win. Once the match is over, the player with the most points is the winner. There’s also a custom mode where players can create a custom ranking system. Finally, there are the custom maps. Co-op Versus, Ranked and Custom can each be played on their own, or you can combine them together in a duos or squads mode. This lets you create unique, competitive maps with your friends.
Conclusion
Venom 2 is a true step forward in the evolution of fighting games. It features a robust campaign, competitive multiplayer, and a fun story mode that shows that Marvel and Capcom don’t need to write the same stories for their characters every year. The visuals are stunning, the controls feel natural, and the new free-for-all and team battle modes are phenomenal. With so much great content to choose from, there’s really no excuse not to play Venom 2.
