If you are trying to access your news feed on Facebook and continue to be hit with the error “Something went wrong”, do not worry; you are not alone – Facebook is under a group of users right now.
Reports of service decline began to appear around 5:08 PM EST, according to DownDetector. At the time of writing, an estimated 4,000 incidents have been reported on the offline monitoring website.
The Facebook status page, however, indicates that the service is running without any known problems.
While trying to access my Facebook profile via a desktop browser, I came across this error message: “Something went wrong. This may be due to a technical error we are working on to fix. Try to reload this page. Reload Page. ”
You can see what the error message looks like below:
Disable seems to affect only desktop users who are trying to access their newsfeed. When you download the mobile app, everything goes well for me. However, a quick Twitter search shows that the service is down for most users.
Turning off seems to affect Facebook only. Instagram and Whatsapp seem to be working well without any incidents of services going down, according to DownDetector.
Unfortunately, there is no official name from Meta, the parent company of Facebook, confirming the exit. So when we hear of any new developments, we will be sure to review this post.
We will continue to review this matter as more information becomes available.
