Samsung Introduces has finally unveiled its new DDR5 memory, which has been mocked since last year. The South Korean technology giant has announced major developments in the construction of the DDR5 SDRAM by launching the 512GB DDR5.
Not only did this make it the most powerful RAM in the world, but Samsung was also able to take first place in terms of speed, with new sticks capable of leaving the mind at 7,200 Mbps.
Samsung 512GB DDR5 RAM
Samsung’s 512GB DDR5 high-speed memory module was recently released by the company. The company says the new memory modules can be used on servers that perform “extremely complex computing tasks, high bandwidth.”
According to Misguide, the Samsung 512GB DDR5 RAM has a transfer rate of 7,200 Mbps and can handle large amounts of data. This is intended to be used in conjunction with larger computers, artificial intelligence holders, and machine learning algorithms and methods.
It uses HKMG advanced technology, which eliminates the need for insulator layers in the DRAM structure. As a result, higher efficiency is achieved when energy consumption decreases by 13%.
Specifically, the 512GB DDR5 RAM stick is made up of eight 16GB DRAM chips packed on top of each other and connected to a 3D structure created using TSV technology.
The power and functionality of the new Samsung DDR5 memory is not ideal for most regular and enthusiastic PC users. In the consumer / sports market, this is more than what one should need, even the heaviest load that can be thrown on a PC.
RAM design for Samsung DDR5
Samsung needed to restructure its stock process to bring that much memory to the same PCB. In short, the term refers to the way a manufacturer collects different memory blocks over another.
As Press Stories reported, in their previous build, Samsung put its DDR4 RAM modules into four separate layers, which was a unique feature. The manufacturer is now able to pack them after making significant changes to the memory modules and partitions used in this process. There are eight layers of these layers. By saving this space, you were able to install 512GB of RAM on the same computer.
The DDR5 RAM modules are Physically similar to the DDR4 RAM sticks currently available. Instead of a new or increased number of pins compared to the previous one, the new DDR5 has the same or similar number of pins in the predecessor. It retains the same shape of 288 pins, but the PINs are slightly different from the original.
Currently, the Samsung DDR5 RAM is only compatible with 12th-gen Intel Core processors.
Some of these Intel Core processors for 12th-gen are 12600K, 12700K, and 12900K. AMD CPD compatible with DDR5 is not yet available on the market, but has been announced and will be available later this year.
Support for DDR5 memory modules has been added to the new 12th generation Intel Core processors and AMD’s Ryzen 6000 mobile CPUs, which have recently entered the market.
In addition to supporting DDR5 RAM, the upcoming series of AMD 7000 processor processors will be released soon, meaning the industry will be seeing more DDR5 memory in the future.
